The Torture of Living in campus

Its only three days since the start of the new semester and already I'm having doubt of whether i should be living in campus.its not that i have very high standards on where i want to call my temporary settlement but i think i deserve a rather comfortable place to stay.the problem with some or all of the student hostels here in UIA is that they are not very well designed.I'm not just talking about the rooms but the whole student living quarters including roads, toilets, cafes, access and location.

The rooms is what I'm most frustrated about and sometimes you just have to wonder when looking at the rooms at some of the Mahallah, especially in Saffiyah and Zubair, is whether these people really think that students would be comfortable living on a room that has a "double-Decker" style bed with a bed upstairs and a long "study"table downstairs. what i was thinking was that maybe somebody thought it would be a good idea to put a bed below a table and certainly it would save some space. It turned out to be the worst design and also an ongoing frustration because all I've seen other students doing is putting their mattresses on the floor.it tells you that students would rather sleep on the floor than climbing up stairs just to sleep.some even sacrifice of not having a study table by laying their mattresses on the study table.another stupid idea is to install those wall-mounted fans that feels like a small kid blowing air at you. i just wanna knock some sense into these people but I'm too busy for all these "extra" activities so I'll guess in one of these day I'll just hire a thug to do those kind of things.

we better not say anything about the toilets at the mahallah or else i would start doing book signings soon. the road is something that annoys me since I've stepped my foot at this campus but i wouldn't know what it feels for the driver but all i can say to UIA is that" stop trying to be a put several themes into your university because you are just embarrassing yourself. the roads at the mahallah area are similar to what you would see in old cities in most European countries.now i maybe wrong but I'm sure that putting bricks instead of tar for your roadway is not a choice but a desperate measure because at that time there wasn't any tar to use for roads.so since the roads are replaced by layered bricks, its certainly would qualify to be called a bumpy ride.

I'm so tired right now so I'll guess I'll continue in another time..

adios!

Do you really know what you are saying?

Words can show how well your understanding on that subject.I've just finished watching a 10-minute documentary titled "Submission" directed by Van Gogh(who was murdered for this documentary by a radical Muslim). It was a documentary showing violence against women in Islam.by the end of the documentary,i began to think that these people certainly talk while putting their brains on the side. What i don't understand is why people always demean other religion with looking into people's actions only?i mean if there is a murderer among human beings, does it mean that all of us are murderers?if some of us are vegetarians are all the people of the world are vegetarians?

the same applies to the fact that if someone preaches about hate and being an extremist,it does not constitute or represent the whole Muslim community as radicals or people who are hungry for non-Muslim bloods.the reason why atheist are really dangerous is because they defend emotional issues as well and project it as one of the doctrines or rules of the religion.what i mean is that, referring to the documentary is that they are just looking into the literal meaning of the Holy Quran and that is what saddens Muslims. The Holy Quran is not just to be read literally but to ponder on it.For example, the command to beat our spouse if she disobeys us is not to hit her with a wood but only with a soft or delicate manner. Why is it always targeted towards Islam?f we say that the Bible promotes lewdness would anyone believe?i don't think so just because christian radicals are not depicted in the media as "famous" as Muslim radicals.what saddens me the most is that not only do Muslims become insane because of this(referring to the hate preach) they do not see the bigger picture which is that we really pity those who are stupid to think that any religion would allow something like abuse and hate to be their fundamentals.we pity them because they are not intelligent enough to be called humans that can think logically and straight.we do pity them that they can be so ignorant of the fact that nothing good can come out of doing what they are doing.

coming to the topic of spousal abuse in EVERY household, its not because of religion, nor is it because of any other factor other than culture and temper.the reason why i included culture is because you can always find spousal abuse anywhere in the world.i might be wrong in saying this but what i think the Arabs are quite rough when it comes to spouses.so it comes with no surprise that Arabs can sometimes be more passionate in everything they do and also can be angered easily.as for temper,we all know that one time, a person can be so loving and so romantic but on another time, they can be brutal and without feeling.so my advice to all of you out there is to know people better before going to the next step.people can be deceiving at times and you really don't want to be regretful on who you end up with.

lastly,I'm going to say something about women abuse(including rape by relatives as it was touched by the documentary) and what i think about it is that humans, especially men,can be animals at times(or even lower) so you cannot trust anyone you are close with and please do take care on who you are close to..

i don't want to be too serious about this so I'll end this post with a joke.here it goes..

A guy is sitting at home when he hears a knock at the door. He opens the door and sees a snail on the porch. He picks up the snail and throws it as far as he can. Three years later, there’s a knock on the door. He opens it and sees the same snail. The snail says "What the hell was that all about?"
